They drink wine from sacrificial bowls,[a]
and pour the very best oils on themselves.[b]
Yet they are not concerned over[c] the ruin[d] of Joseph.
Therefore they will now be the first to go into exile,[e]
and the religious banquets[f] where they sprawl on couches[g] will end.
The Sovereign Lord confirms this oath by his very own life.[h]

The Lord God of Heaven’s Armies is speaking:
“I despise Jacob’s arrogance;
I hate their[i] fortresses.
I will hand over to their enemies[j] the city of Samaria[k] and everything in it.”
